CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Writers, editors and storytellers appeared during a Halloween Publishing and Writing Panel, at Taylor Books on Saturday, October 23. In keeping with the Trick or Treat season, the independent bookstore emphasized speculative fiction and horror genres. Panel participants included 2009 Bram Stoker Award-winning editor Michael Knost, Brian J. Hatcher, Ellen Thompson McCloud, Frank Larnerd, Jason L. Keene, Geoffrey Cameron Fuller, Karin Fuller, Eric Fritzius, Jessie Grayson and others.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A "frightening" group of Appalachian authors greeted the public and signed Woodland Press books during the Borders Express FRIGHT NIGHT event, sponsored by Borders Express and Magic Makers, at Charleston Town Center Mall. Authors appearing included Mark Justice, S. Clayton Rhodes, Keith Davis, Michael Knost, Eric Fritzius, Frank Larnerd, Geoffrey Cameron Fuller and Karin Fuller. Also, author and magician Brian J. Hatcher demonstrated magic and illusion for customers at the event.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The WV Writers, Inc. event, “The Many Paths to Publishing" panel, took place Sat., Jun. 19th, 2 pm thru 4 pm, at Taylor Books, 226 Capitol Street. Authors Michael Knost and Brian J. Hatcher represented Woodland Press at the event. Others appearing included Cathy Teets of Headline Books, Abby Freeland of WVU Press, and Cat Pleska of WV Writers, Inc. The in-store event is being called West Virginia Author Weekend.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The 2010 Vandalia Gathering was held on Sat. and Sun., May 29th and 30th, at the State Capitol Complex. This year the event included several Woodland Press authors signing books at the West Virginia Book Company booth.

Writers participating included Robert and Miranda Walker, Michael Knost, Brian Hatcher, Ellen McCloud, and Geoffrey and Karin Fuller.

The annual event, held at the State Capitol Complex, focuses on Mountain State artisans, and includes exceptional musicians, storytellers, square-dancers and cloggers.
