Huntington Mall Borders presents WV Author Weekend

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. - According to activity planners at Borders, at Huntington Mall, the bookstore will focus its attention on the importance of Mountain State storytellers and regional books this weekend through a variety of author appearances. The in-store event is being called West Virginia Author Weekend.

"We have an exceptional regional section," said Lill Neace, of Borders, "featuring a variety of award-winning titles that have garnered both state and national attention. It is our distinct pleasure to feature several outstanding authors inside our store for this special weekend activity."

Scheduled to appear on Friday night, Jun. 11th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., will be 2009 Bram Stoker Award winner Michael Knost. Joining Knost will be writers Keith Davis and Brian J. Hatcher. The authors will greet the public and sign copies of their respective books.

On Saturday afternoon, Jun. 12th, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., authors on hand will include Jessie Grayson, Karen Newman and Ellen Thompson McCloud. Michael Knost and Keith Davis are scheduled to be at the book-signing table, as well.

Jessie Grayson, Karen Newman and Ellen Thompson McCloud will be signing copies of Dark Tales of Terror (Woodland Press), an anthology by West Virginia writers. Meanwhile, Michael Knost and Brian J. Hatcher will sign copies of the Legends of the Mountain State series(Woodland Press), Appalachian Winter Hauntings (Woodland Press) and Writers Workshop of Horror (Woodland Press). Keith Davis is the author of The Secret Life and Brutal Death of Mamie Thurman (Quarrier Press), West Virginia Tough Boys (Woodland Press), After All These Years: The Authorized Biography of the Hoppers(Woodland Press), and The Feuding Hatfields & McCoys (Woodland Press).
